Next IILA CPD event - Friday 15th October 2021 at 3:00 p.m.

We write to invite you to our next complimentary CPD event hosted by Aileen Gittens of McGrath McGrane LLP. The event will run from 3:00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Friday, 15th October 2021 via Zoom. Login details will be shared in a reminder email and on the IILA forum the day before the event.
We are delighted to confirm the following line-up for this event:
Fiona McEntee of McEntee Law Group will join us to discuss her experiences working as an immigration lawyer in the US and particularly some key moments in her practice over the last 5 years. Fiona will also discuss her role as Chair of the Media and Advocacy Committee of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), how the AILA has organised to assist people fleeing from the most recent Afghan crisis and family reunification options available to Afghans living in the US.
Barrister Colm O’Dwyer SC will then continue on the same theme and speak about family reunification options available for Afghans living in Ireland. Colm will also look at problems which have arisen with previous non-statutory family reunification schemes and some of the litigation in this area.
This will be followed by a discussion and Q & A session. The event will be approximately one hour and thirty minutes in duration and will be valid for 1 ½ CPD points (General). Registration is not necessary. If you have any questions regarding the event, please email events@iila.ie.
