Ceremony invitation and expired IRP Card
HI all,
I have a client who has been invited to the next ceremony in September but whose current IRP Card will expire at the end of August. Application for renewal made in mid June but no sign of card yet.
I know the Notice issued re travel on an expired IRP card once application for renewal is made before expiry etc. and logic would dictate that the Department would allow similar leeway in respect of attending the ceremonies once you have provide evidence of application before expiry etc.
Has anyone had a client who has been in similar position and have they accepted the expired card with proof of application renewal etc.?

Yes I had a client who was in the same situation and the proof of renewal was accepted.
Not sure what legal basis there is for requiring a valid IRP in the first place though!
