Renewal of Permission of Beneficiary under UK Withdrawal Agreement
Hi all, I have encountered conflicting info online and from the Dept. via email regarding the renewal of a Stamp 4d permission for Beneficiary under the UK Withdrawal Agreement.
Website indicates renewal online with Biometric passport pages, initial letter of approval and proof of address in the State. Simple, or so i thought. However, this renewal was not available through the portal when I went through it with client. Dept. have advised that Renewals relate to applicants who have applied for and been granted a new permission letter from the Department of Justice!
Engaged with the Department via email and was advised no automatic renewal and to submit fresh EUTR1!
Using Portal is causing more issues than solving.
Client intends to apply for Citizenship so doesn't necessarily need long term residency EUTR3.
Also her UK national spouse now has dual citizenship (UK and Irish), is there a simple way to convert permission to SOIN.
Has anyone encountered similar before and did they get to renew and how?
At this stage preparing for the EUTR3 so that she can get an extension while that's processing (current permission expiring in April) and setting about submitting the Citizenship application without delay.
Any help or guidance is much appreciated.

Hi Melanie, just seeing this. If it was a few years ago, they could just pop in to the local Garda Station/ Immigration office and change the basis of the permission to SOIN over the counter. Can they submit a query through the portal - request change the basis of their permission and upload marriage cert and spouse's Irish passport etc? Hope you managed to sort it before now!
