Requirement to Reside in Ireland while Citizenship Application is being processed

Good afternoon all, I am aware of the six week time limit for absences outside the state when calculating reckonable residency and the difficulties this presents constitutionally etc. but what is the situation with absences following submission of an application, are they still subject to the dix week rule?

For example if someone submits an application then is sent abroad for work through Irish employer to a sister company for a period of time months maybe even a year to upskill is that an automatic refusal from the Department?

Any guidance appreciated.

There is absolutely nothing in the legislation which requires anyone to live in Ireland after submitting the application! The person does have to swear that they intend to live here after naturalisation, of course.
