Delays in visa applications
Hi all, I just received an email from the Embassy in Nigeria indicating that they have such delays for visa appeals that it is quicker for my client to withdraw the appeal and submit a new visa application which will take 6 -8 months. This is a category A visa application - spouse of Irish citizen - and the visa application was first submitted in August 2020. They are a newly married couple who wish to start a family, and utterly depressed by the delay to date. The news that they should now start again from scratch about 12 months later is devastating for them.
I note INIS are now dealing with visa appeals for Category A received in May 2020!
I think the visa appeal system is not fit for purpose if it is quicker to submit a new application?
I would absolutely JR the delay and exhibit that email
