Does leaving the State negate the extension of residency permission?
Good morning all. I am just wondering with regard to the 9 extensions granted by the Minister to date. If you are receiving the benefit of the extension and leave the State does this negate the extensions already granted?
I have a client whose IRP expired on 9th January last and cannot renew as he spent over 3 months outside the State last year due to family illness, pandemic and work but despite explaining all of this Immigration locally will not renew IRP and have referred it to Dublin. He has been requested to complete a Res6 Form but this will take time. As matters stand he needs to leave the country next week for a very important work meeting has been advised to apply for holiday visa to land and reenter the State but then which permission applies when he enters the State previous Stamp 4 or new Holiday Visa, if its the later obviously he cannot work. Any help or guidance or previous experience of this appreciated.
