Foreign Birth Registration without Parent ID?
I have a client who qualifies for Citizenship by Descent but she has not yet registered on the Foreign Birth Register.
Her grandmother was Irish.
Her father was born in the UK.
Her mother and father were unmarried and her father left the UK when she was a child effectively deserting his family.
She has not had any communication or contact with her father in over 25 years and does not know where he is.
She is encountering great difficulty registering on the Foreign Births Register as she does not have and cannot get an current ID for her father for the reasons outlined above.
Can an Affidavit be provided to explain the position and what information would be required?
