Has anyone ever successfully applied for a GEP for a secondary school teacher? The problem here seems to be the labour market needs test which is at odds with how teaching positions are advertised. Teaching jobs are advertised via the Public Appointments System. I'm sure are very strict rules about this, therefore deviating slightly by also advertising on EURES and Indeed most likely is not at all permitted. This seems unfair to non-EEA school teachers. Does anyone have any experience of this? Many thanks!

Hi, I am just wondering if anyone has come across a private individual setting up a company or partnership for the purposes of employing a carer in a elderly person's home. The employment permit for carer of a person with exceptional medical needs is not applicable for my client so according to the DETE the only people that can apply for an employment permit is a carer or healthcare assistant employed through a healthcare agency as opposed to a private individual so i am wondering if it is possible for a person to set up a company for this purpose even though it is just for an individual family member. Has anyone come across this before?

Hi all, I've drafted a letter to go to the DETE on the new employment permit system.

I've gathered a good number of issues to mention that we will be seeking corrections for.

We will hopefully be able to force a meeting with them on it.

There will always be difficulties in any new digital system changeover, but this is too much.

Please comment below with any issues you've experienced - I'll add them in if they're not in the draft letter so far.

Hi everyone, I know this topic has and is being discussed on this forum. Our office is continuing to have immense difficulties actioning anything on this portal. Just when we manage to register or authorise one thing or another, another road block appears. It's hugely frustrating.

What I want to know is, have any of you, as agents, managed to complete a full application form on behalf of an employee or employer? So far, I only seem to be able to fill out a few initial details about the employee and it more or less ends with me uploading their passport photo. That said, the employer in question has been having difficulty authorising me as agent which could be limiting how far I can go on this application.
